Diving Dog

DOCK TRAINING

DISTANCE JUMPS  .  HYDRO-DASH  .  AIR RETRIEVE

The jump distance is determined by NADD from the lateral midpoint at the end of the dock to the point where the base of the dog's tail meets the water's surface. Dogs need to focus on tracking the toy to achieve longer jumps from the dock. The dog and handler must collaborate to understand each other and build confidence together.

In Hydro Dash, the toy is at the pool's end, and the goal is for the dog to retrieve it quickly. Open dogs must have their back feet beyond the 10-foot line, while lap dogs must be in front of the 7-foot line. When released, the dog jumps in, swims to the bumper, and detaches it from the clips. After that, the dog returns to the 10-foot line to complete the attempt.

In the Air Retrieve, dogs are required to leap for a bumper that is suspended two feet above the width of the. The objective is for the dog to either catch the bumper or completely dislodge it from the apparatus. Each dog will have two chances to knock down the bumper at each distance.

Your trainer should be committed to training all dogs to be great companions.  They use the dog’s natural desire and drive to produce some of the finest dock diving spirit and drive.

A WORD

from Nikki...

When I first encountered dock diving, I realized it would have a lasting impact on my life. Although my own dog lacked the confidence to jump, I saw it as a sport that could engage the people of South Louisiana. Now, seven years later, I have chance to bring this sport closer to our community and assist those eager to advance in it.

My husband and I are thrilled to have worked hard to bring you an amazing indoor facility with a heated pool! Now, we can practice freely without any worries about the weather. Plus, those traveling from out of state can us without the fear of being rained out! We can't wait to serve you!
