About Mill Pond Kennels Mill Pond Kennels is between Broussard & Youngsville off of Larriviere Road. It is purpose built pet boarding and dog training facility. Mill Pond Kennels offers Pet Boarding, Basic Obedience Training, and Gun Dog Training.
Lifetime native to Broussard, Owner / Trainer Mark Sonnier has been training basic obedience and gun dogs for over 20 years. It is his mission to offer the best of care for your special pet, and to ensure that they have a safe and comfortable home away from home! When you train or board with Mill Pond Kennels you can have the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pet is in good hands!
Requirements if your pet stays with us:
• Your pet must be in good health and flea & tick free • We require a copy of the current shot record. • All dogs must be currently vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella (for Canine Cough). Please note that your dog must be fully inoculated at least 48 HOURS prior to the start of the reservation.

All pick up and drop offs need an appointment.
Customers are kindly asked to note our opening hours when booking a pet into Mill Pond Kennels. While we will endeavor to accommodate drop-off or pick-up outside of these hours we cannot guarantee without prior arrangement. Thank you for observing our opening and closing times!

Pet Boarding
All inclusive rates per DAY are:
Single dog - $15 Multiple dogs - $13 per dog
* Rates apply whether dogs are sharing a kennel or in separate kennels.

Basic Obedience Training Our "Board & Train" service is second to none. Your dog will stay at our facility for one month and during this time, we will teach your dog On-Lead: • Sit • Heal • Stay • Here • Down • No • General Manners We will also evaluate your dog to better help you both understand how to get along. Included is a One on One lesson for you to learn your dog’s new skills. Rate - $525 for the month due at the time of drop off.
Private Lessons Our one-hour private lessons are designed to teach you how to train your own dog. You will learn how to use proven training methods to train your dog in any area in which you need assistance. Lessons are customized to suit each owner and their dog. Please contact us for pricing.
